The Longleat Club Campsite is most definitely an incredible experience. We pitched the van to a background noise of some monkey's chitter chatter and waited to hear the roar of one of our neighbouring lions - we were not disappointed!
The Longleat campsite is totally dog friendly with an impressive fenced in dog friendly field for the furry ones to play around off lead.
The Longleat Campsite has several pubs within a 2 mile radius and a short drive away are the historic towns of Bath, Frome and Bristol as well as sites of historic interest such as Stonehenge, Avebury Neolithic monument and Lacock Abbey.
The reason for our stay was to visit
The Longleat Festival of Lights.
Situated just a five minute walk from
Longleat Safari Park, it is perfectly located for a visit to the amazing Festival of Light at Longleat - which this year is based on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Dogs are not permitted in Longleat Safari Park but they do have a dog kennel facility at the entrance to the Safari Drive-Through. Advanced booking isn't possible - they are available on a first come, first served basis.
The kennels are basic and you can bring your own food, water, blankets, etc. Dogs aren't supervised, but a padlock will be provided on request.
